House The Making

B
This is the prototype for the Twits house. I have made it 3 times smaller than the real set I will be making and it will be... 815mm high without the roof, 1140mm wide, the side will be 175mm wide and roof 330 high, from 1140mm to 720mm and the wide will be from 175mm to 300mm. I have blocked out the windows because the twits this people would nosy into their house but I don't think I will do this on the final model. For the final model I will either paint bricks on or stick bricks on and colour them them in and do it like the picture on the right.

The house will turn around and have two sets inside. On the top floor there will be a kitchen with Mrs Twit's chair and walking stick. For the ground floor I will be putting everything in it upside down and it will look like a living room. I don't know if I will get all of the rooms even near to done but I will be making a lot of designs in my sketchbook and I will pick the one I will make in time. I have also been looking at how to make Sofas, Chairs and Beds in small. I will be trying to make Mrs Twits chair in small and also I will make her walking stick. I will be making a small glue bottle.

This is the wood for the making of the twits house. It is Beach faced ply 6mm and I cut it out by hand this is because I need to get it started. When I started cutting the wood I change the size of the sides from 675mm to 610mm because I could get both sides out of one sheet of ply wood. I was going to use 9mm Birch ply but I was thinking of time and I need it yesterday so I think it would be better to get it started. I also will be put it together the fastest, strongest way possible but I still want to make it look like my designs. I will be using butt joints on this project because they are simple and they will be strong enough for the house and the floors will strengthen it. I will use wood PVA to make sure its as strong as possible. I have pined and glued the sides and the top together. I put the top on with great difficulty because i did it all on my own and now it doesn't look that good. Some of the pins have gone through the inside of the ply wood. Next I need to cut the door out and then I can put the middle and bottom door in. I will be cutting the door out with either a jigsaw or a large copping sew.

I have cut the door out with a jigsaw and I have charged the look of the inside of the house. I have done this by instead of having two rooms I now have four room I have done this for strength. I was worried that it would not have enough strength to stand up. I have also painted it a brick red and I am going to paint yellow lines so it looks bricks.

I have made the roof out of , it was really hard to put together. First I had to work out the work out the sizes but now I have changed my design. So I have made it wonky and the angles are not quite even. When pining the roof it was really hard because not only did it keep falling apart but also the pins kept going though the side because the ply wood is really thin. The next think is to wallpaper the inside and start putting things inside. I will be putting pictures of the making of the house up. And I will also put a post up of my expedition and will explain how and why I set it out like I have.
